About Me

I've always liked to consider myself as a southern girl, and I've taken pride in the fact that I'm a West Virginian.  My home as the northern-most southern state (or southern-most northern state, depending on your outlook) has blessed me with close family ties, the love and comfort of rolling mountainsides, and values based on faith, honesty, and respect.

I find that the small-town, take-life-slow lifestyle to be exactly what I need in life.  Although I didn't go to college in a huge city, everything was too fast there, and the important things in life seemed to be pushed to the wayside.  A two-stoplight town where everyone takes the time to slow down and enjoy life is just enough for me.

I love sitting outside and listening to the birds sing as a breeze lightly blows.  I love reading, watching documentaries on Netflix, trying new recipes, painting, and traveling.  I like to be clean and organized, but I hate actually cleaning--makes sense, right?  I love spending every day with my 7th graders, hearing their stories, and watching them grow.  I find inspiration in music and yearn for the one time a year when I can play with the WVU Alumni Band. I look forward to one week every June when I can refocus my life around God and strengthen my relationship with Him.

God has blessed me with an incredible husband who makes me laugh every day, a beautiful daughter who teaches me something every day, family and friends that would do anything for me, a job that I love, and everything else that I need.
